Welcome to the Bujinkan Dojo Adelaide. In this
site we have a brief explanation of the type of martial
art that we teach, the people doing the teaching, and lists of
associated dojos around Australia.
The art of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is the
collection of ancient martial arts and techniques inherited by Soke
(grandmaster) Masaaki Hatsumi. In total there are nine sub-schools of
martial arts in the Bujinkan, each with their own specialties and
differences from each other. Three of them are of Ninjutsu ancestry,
while the others are of more "mainstream" Japanese martial arts. For
the most part classes are not taught by these sub-schools but as a
unified whole so as to concentrate on the passing on of skills to the
student rather than history. The main aspects are unarmed combat, stick
weapons (1&2 metre), spear, halberd, sword and knife.
